About the company:
The company is a Cape-Town based close corporation whose objective is to design, produce and market a range of textile bags under a South African trade mark. All quality bags are made out of environmentally friendly fabrics and are being manufactured by cooperatives of self-employed women in the townships of Cape Town. Bags are sold through retail (Pick n’ Pay) as well as directly to corporations and conference organizers in SA, Europe, USA. One key objective: establish the company as a powerful trade mark in the domestic and export markets in order to support the sustainable development of empowered production units in the townships of South Africa. The company is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization
Intern’s Responsibilities:
- Improve the way we engage with the relevant target markets (corporate / academic institutions) in South Africa.
- Drive overall company brand awareness in these markets.
- Support the day-to-day operations.
- Develop a plan on how to engage with key corporations / academic institutions in South Africa. Identify decision makers, complete a competitive analysis and test approach with local accounts in Cape Town area. Review existing customer base and develop a program to capture recurrent business.
- Review existing or develop additional marketing collaterals to support customer engagement and marketing programs.
- Create effective communications tools (regular newsletter, presence on social networks, dedicated websites, etc…) and implement a detailed rolling calendar of activities.
- Improve existing tools in order to improve operations effectiveness and improve the professional image of the company.
